While it's an early date for the series, 1936 is not a very rare date. If it has a "D" or "S" mintmark on the back, below the eagle, it is slightly rarer and will have a higher value. Numismedia lists the following approximate retail values as of 01/2013:

No mint mark (Phila.)

Very worn condition - $5

Moderately worn - $5

Slightly worn - $8.74

Almost no wear - $12

A nice uncirculated one might sell for $18 or more.

"S" (San Francisco)

$5 / $5/ $7.00 / $12.50 / $85.00+

"D" (Denver)

$5 / $8.30 / $23.00 / $63.00 / $550.00+

If you sell this quarter on ebay, you can get at least 8 dollars for it if in the worst possible condition. If it is in decent condition, you can get 10 dollars for it at the very least (more often closer to 12 dollars, especially if the details are clear and unworn). Uncirculated quarters go for even more, as well as the rare/scarce dates and mintmarks. But as far as basic, common dated, or worn 90% silver quarters you can get around 10 dollars on ebay rather than 3 or 4 dollars from a local collector. The difference- many people buying silver quarters on ebay are silver collectors, as opposed to coin collectors.

What is the value of model 1912 US army issue colt 45 with holster?

your probably referring to the model 1911. First get on the net with the manufacturer to determine when it was made, how many in that production run, etc. History adds value. Value possibly is 1000 to 1100 but unique history could up that. Collectors are your best bet.

What is the value of a 1970 Canadian silver dollar?

You did not give a denomination or condition. Assuming the coin is from circulation, it would be worth its face value times whatever the current U.S / Canadian exchange rate is - maybe around 0.85 U.S. cents to the Canadian dollar. For example a Canadian quarter would be worth 0.85 x 25 cents or about 21 U.S. cents.

When did the first television picture broadcast in the us?

The first public demonstration of television in the US was in 1928 by Philo Farnsworth. He continued his development work and showed a fully electronic system in 1929. It was this technology that was used for the first commercial broadcasts by RCA in 1939. Farnsworth was not the only one working on television. John Logie Baird in the UK first showed a working television system in 1925 and others in the US were also developing similar systems. RCA found themselves in a long legal battle during the 1930s and it was only in 1939 that patent disputes were settled to allow RCA to begin their broadcasts. The BBC in England beat RCA to the first public broadcasts in 1929, using Baird's system and then in 1936 they changed to a fully electronic television system. The outbreak of the Second World War in 1939 caused the BBC television service to be halted, so as television started in the US, it also ceased in the UK.
