1950 one hundred dollar bills retail from $370 to $570

More

The above is not very specific. 1950 is generally not considered to be a rare year for US $100 bills in circulated condition. Check to see if there's a letter next to the date. As of 05/2010 approximate retail prices are:

No letter, or "A" to "D": If circulated, face value to $140 depending on the amount of wear. Uncirculated: $175 or more.

"E": Circulated, $140.-$220. Uncirculated, $500 or more.

Serial Numbers

It's normally not necessary to provide a bill's serial number. Serial numbers are counters and a security feature but rarely affect a bill's value. Some collectors will pay extra for numbers with a special pattern, e.g. 12345678, or low numbers such as 00000015.
