1955 is a common year for Washington Quarters. In circulated condition its value is almost totally based on the price of silver and how worn the coin is. The price of silver changes every day, so check a newspaper or financial site for the current price, then multiply by 0.18 for a rough retail value. A dealer will pay half to 2/3 of that amount.
Uncirculated values depend on whether there's a mint mark above the R in QUARTER:
No mint mark (Philadelphia): $8.91 to $450.00 depending on quality
"D" mint mark (Denver): $8.91 to $750.00
There were no S-mint quarters struck from 1955 to 1967 inclusive and no US coins carried mint marks during the transition from silver to clad coinage in 1965-67.
The first US quarter was struck in 1796.
No US quarters were struck in 1922. The US did not make ANY quarters dated 1922.
The 1955 quarter dollar is a common coin from both mints and therefore carries no value other than its silver content which is about $3.50. Some uncirculated and unhandled coins will fetch a small premium of up to $15.00, but you would need to bring it to a coin dealer for an assessment if it appears to be in mint condition for an accurate idea on its value.
No US quarters were made in 1810.
The Royal Mint does not produce a "quarter" coin.
A US quarter has a face value of 25 cents.
