IF you had one and IF it were legal to own it, its value would be in the millions.
The U.S. Mint agreed to make about 300,000 PEACE design silver dollars in 1964, under pressure from the silver lobby, the Nevada gaming lobby, and President Johnson. However the coins were made at a time when silver was rocketing in price and the Mint was trying to find an alternative metal for other coins.
Before they could be released the price of silver went up so much that the coins were worth more than $1 for their metal content, so they were melted. Rumors persist that a couple of employees sneaked a few of them out of the Mint, but none have ever shown up in an auction or anywhere else. If they do exist, whoever owns them is almost certainly unwilling to face the FBI and is keeping very, very quiet.
If you think you have a 1964 silver dollar, my bet is that if you turn the coin over and check the denomination on the back (you DID do that, didn't you?) you'll find that it's a 50 cent piece, not a dollar.
In any case a '64 half is made of 90% silver so its melt value is about 3/8 of the current price of 1 oz. of silver bullion.
Sorry no US dollar coins dated 1964
Sorry, no circulating US $1 coins were struck in 1964 at any US Mint. The coin is a Half Dollar with a value of about $13.00 for the silver as of 07/2011.
A 1964 US dime is so common most are valued only for the silver at about a dollar.
Nothing, because there's no such thing. There were no dollar coins released that year.
The 1964 Kennedy is very common, unless it's a super high grade coin the value is just for the silver, about $10.00

There were no silver dollars issued by the US Mint in 1964.
Sorry, no US dollar coins exist dated 1964. Eisenhower first appeared on the dollar coin in 1971. The coin is likely a 1964 Kennedy HALF dollar. Look at the coin again and post new question.
The US didn't release any one dollar coins that year. It might be a 1964 Peace dollar, in which case it's actually from the 1920s and the date was restamped later. One of those is currently worth about $13 for the silver.
A real silver dollar has a $25.00 value just for the silver.
US silver quarters were struck form 1796-1964.
Please check again and post a new question. The last $2 silver certificates were dated 1899. The last silver certificates of any denomination were dated 1957. No US bills were dated 1964.
