All Franklin halves are made of 90% silver so they're worth at least whatever a metal dealer is currently paying. To get an idea of their retail metal value, multiply the current price of silver by 0.36. Dealers will pay wholesale, which is about 2/3 of retail so multiply by 0.24 for a wholesale price.
However Franklin halves were struck for 15 years and at 3 mints so more details are needed. Depending on the coin's date, condition, mint mark it may be worth more to a collector. Look above the bell on the back to see if there is a small mint mark letter there. If there is one it will be a small D or S. Please post a new question with the coin's date and what letter, if any, you found.
For more information on a specific date, enter the question "What is the value of a <date> US half dollar?" in the large question box at the top of each page; e.g. "What is the value of a 1956 US half dollar?".
If you have a 1949 half it's worth a bit more as a collectible.
Uncirculated Franklin halves are significantly more valuable but it depends on the date an mint mark. See the Related Link for current retail prices.
