A lot more info is needed. Are you referring to a real gold dollar from the 1800s, or one of the gold-color dollars issued since 2000?

The former are worth at least $200 and maybe thousands, depending on their date, mint mark, and condition. If that's what you have, post a new, separate question with those details.

Modern gold-color dollars issued since 2000 are actually made of brass and are worth exactly $1.00.
