Please don't assume that because a coin is old, it has to be made of silver. Like all nickels except for those struck during WWII, Indian Head nickels are made of cupronickel, not silver.

The coins were made from 1913 to 1938 at 3 mints so without more information a value can't be given. Please post a new question with the coin's date and whether there is a small letter D or S underneath the words FIVE CENTS.
