The Walking Liberty design was used on half-dollars from 1916 to 1945, and on modern bullion pieces.

There were no dollar coins of any design struck in 1816.

Assuming you have a 1916 half-dollar (you did look at the denomination on the back, didn't you?) its value depends on its condition and mint mark.

With no mint mark, retail values as of 09/2008 are roughly $50 in very worn condition, $90 with moderate wear, and $200 with almost no wear.
