The 1833 Capped Bust, Lettered Edge half dollar is fairly common. For an accurate assessment of value the coin needs to be seen and graded. Most coins of this type have seen heavy use and show a lot of wear. In general retail values for low grade coins are $60.00-$80.00, better grade are $100.00-$175.00 and coins showing almost no wear run from $325.00-$645.00. Values are a market average and only for coins in collectible condition, coins that are bent, corroded, scratched or have been cleaned have far less value if any to a collector or dealer.
There were no silver dollars produced in the United States in 1833 (or at any time from 1805 through 1835). Please check your coin again. If it's not a dollar or has a different date, please post a new question with the updated information. If it is an "1833 dollar" you either have a privately-minted piece or a counterfeit.
The first circulating $20 gold pieces were made in 1850.
In very worn condition, $25; moderately worn, $45; almost uncirculated, $200+
Post a new question and include denomination and mint-mark if it has one.
