With the date of 1855 it's not a Morgan dollar that series started in 1878. The coin is a Seated Liberty dollar (1840-1873) circulated examples have retail values of $860.00 for a low grade coin showing heavy wear to over $7,000.00 for a coin with only slight wear. If you actually have this coin, I suggest sending it to one of the professional grading services for evaluation.
The coin has no collectible value unless you find someone that wants it. But its still has some value just for the silver.

This coin in average circulated condition has retail values of $90.00-$225.00 depending on the actual grade of the coin. Above average circulated coins have higher values, up to $600.00
The first year Trade Dollars were issued was 1873. Many wrong-date counterfeits exist. If it does have "TRADE DOLLAR" on the reverse. It is definitely a fake. If not, it's a 1872 Seated Liberty dollar that needs to be seen for an accurate value. Take it to a coin dealer.
