Five-Civilized Tribes
The so-called five civilized tribes were the Choctaw, Chickasaw, Cherokee, Seminole and Creek. They were called this by the European settlers because they adopted many of the settlers' customs and had generally good relations with their neighbors.
The tribes who made up the Iroquois Confederation of Five Tribes were the Onondaga, Oneida, Seneca, Mohawk and Cayuga.
