Marcus Garvey
The leader of the Black nationalist movement in the 1920s was Marcus Garvey. He founded the Universal Negro Improvement Association (UNIA) and promoted ideas of Black pride, self-reliance, and the return to Africa. Garvey's vision included the establishment of a separate nation for African Americans and he became a prominent figure advocating for racial equality and empowerment during that era.
