There were a few natural constraints. The Native American Indian did not understand the concept of land ownership, so it made it very hard to deal with peoples who felt land ownership was their due. Secondly, lying was not an acceptable practice. If a native gave his word, he kept it. There were no gray areas, nor did he go back on it. Thirdly, most tribes loved and honored God. Their whole lives were dependent upon the living in the spiritual way. They did not understand the white fear of God , nor their lack of walking the spiritual path.
