The Native Americans were the only people inhabiting the Americas until Christopher Columbus arrived in 1492, but it is highly debated whether he actually helped them or not. It is widely believed that he attacked and killed many natives, and raped the women. When he returned to Spain, it is widely believed that his title was removed.
