Lorraine Hansberry was an African-American author, activist and playwright. She is particularly famous because she was the first black woman who authored a play that was performed on Broadway. When she was young, her house received the visit of prominent black intellectuals, as Paul Robeson and W.E.B. Du Bois, something that for sure inspired her for her future work.
