Whose portrait is on the silver dollar coin?

The US does not currently mint a silver dollar coin, not even if you are simply talking about their color. The current dollar coins, instead, are all gold in color; at first, these coins featured a somewhat generic image of a woman and infant which was intended to represent Sacagawea. More recently, they have featured images of the various Presidents of the United States.

The most recent "silver" dollar coins had an image of Susan B. Anthony, and the ones before them, which were larger still, bore an image of Dwight Eisenhower; neither circulated well, and the Anthony dollar coin's design was resoundingly criticized on many fronts. It was the Eisenhower coin, whose poor circulation stemmed entirely from its large size and heavy weight, as coins went, that was the most recent silver dollar actually to contain a significant amount of silver.
