Why did people enslave people?

People in America imported slaves because they needed a vast labour force, they tried to use native Americans but it didnt work, theyeither died od disease or simply ran away, the different Indian tribes were nomadic and hard to capture, if they didnt want to be found then they wouldn't be found, plus they were not as strong as a black African man was, slave owners saw that a certain type of African had a good build and strong body and they started to breed them
