Small animals are easy - a seamstress's flexible measuring tape and a scale are all you need. Large animals are harder, and most veterinarians will "eye-ball measure" the animal's approximate weight if a scale isn't available. There are also weight tapes available for veterinarians and producers that will give an approximate weight.
