The first thing is how do you know your dog does not have worms?
Worms can be so small you can not see them or their eggs.
We actually worm our dogs to keep them healthy, but also to keep us healthy too.
The only way to absolutley know your dog has no worms is to do serial ( a few ) stool collection and have them tested.
The risk of human contmination is important.
I would advise worming your dog every 3 months with a reputable allwormer every 3 months, costs less than testing and works for dog and all in contact
a puppy wormer
A.S.A.P!! your breeder should have done it when the dog was pregnant and first couple of weeks old.
You should only deworm for tapeworms when there is evidence that your puppy has tapeworms. Always consult your veterinarian if you think that your puppy has parasites.
tapeworm
Of course a dachshund puppy can be bitten by a mosqueto. Just about anything can be bitten by a mosquito. Mosquito bites transmit the heart worm parasite. Heart worm is deadly to dogs. Puppies should be started on a heart worm preventative to kill any microfilaria (baby heart worm) that are injected by the mosquito into the dogs blood stream. Don't let your dog get heart worm. It can be very dangerous and expensive to treat and will kill your dog if its not fixed.
Your puppy could have roundworms...they sorta look like spaghetti.
Usually you should wait to worm your dog until it is 6 to 8 weeks old and then worm the dog every 1-2 months whether you know they have worms for sure or not so u know they will stay healthy. A pregnant or mother dog should not have wormer until all her puppies are done nursing.
Nothing. The worm medicine is working.
I worm my dogs at 5 weeks.
not sure but dont give it to muchh ;)
nothing it will keep the worms gone for a long time
Yes, it is recommended to give your puppy regular deworming medication as a preventative measure, even if there are no signs of worms. Puppies are at high risk for worms, and deworming can help prevent potential health issues. Consult with your veterinarian for the best deworming schedule for your puppy.
