Granulicatella adiacens is a species of bacteria belonging to the genus Granulicatella, which is classified as a nutritionally variant streptococcus (NVS). This organism was first described in 1961 and is known to be part of the normal flora of the human mouth, gastrointestinal tract, and urogenital tract. Although it typically does not cause disease, it can lead to serious infections in certain circumstances, particularly in immunocompromised individuals.
