Children will benefit from activities that are challenging and help them to understand risks by being aware of the danger that they can put themselves in if they don't follow rules, also later on in life if the child has to do something challenging they won't find it difficult because they will already have an experience of what risks and challenges there are. The child will learn their own strength and will be grasping a variety of skills. E.g. if a child was to walk along stepping stones, then they would learn a new skill which would be balancing.
