Using 10W-40 4-cycle oil in a Polaris 500 that has been using PS4 is not recommended. PS4 is a specific oil formulated for Polaris engines, offering optimal performance and protection. While 10W-40 oil may function in a pinch, it may not provide the same level of protection or meet the specific requirements of your engine. It's best to stick with the manufacturer-recommended oil for optimal performance and longevity.
This is not advisable. You should use 10w 30w in this vehicle. Unless the 10w40 has been advised by the manufacturer.
I have been using Motul 10w40 for as long, runs great and no problems. Find it at your local dealer.

Polaris is known by other names such as "pole star" or "North pole". Polaris has also been referred to as "Steadfast".
About 1700 years.
it is a way of communication in which using 6 steps to get the message sent and been understood and got dealt with.
Polaris has been known to ancient civilizations for thousands of years. It has been used for navigation, and its importance has been documented in various historical texts. The star's exact date of discovery is not known since it has been in the night sky for centuries.
Some radar runs have put the 1998 polaris storm at 136mph. I found this out by googling radar run 800 polaris storm. I have been up to 110mph on mine. I had lots of throttle but I ran out of guts.
Water cycle was not discovered in 1991, it has always been. It is the process of using and recycling the earth's water.
Polaris is a Trinary star system, but there are many other trinary star systems out there, and to date no exo solar planets have been discovered around any of the stars that make up the Polaris system. Not to mention that Polaris A being a red giant and Polaris B and C being a close binary star system the existence of any planets is very unlikely.
I recomend 20/50 You may use 20W50 in hot climates, but I have been using 10W40 which is the recommened oil by Honda, for many years with out a problem in my 1200. I do use the Honda brand and have never had any problems with the clutch or stator.
Maybe if your cycle been on that long or maybe because your cycle haven't been on in a couple off months that have something to do with it ..
