No unfortunatly there is no way to update it and play Wii games with that system. The wireless controlers work to differently from the hardware of the old system.

No, unfortunately. The Wii U is backwards compatible for the Wii and some other Nintendo systems, but since the Wii U is newer, the technology is different, and you can't play the games made only for the Wii U on the older system.
