yes you can play ps2 games on a ps3 all you have to do is to go in PlayStation Store and look it up on search then i think you gotta download and install after that go to games and you will see it ALSO YOU NEED PLAYSTATION NETWORK IT DOESNT COST A THING I HAVE IT AND I DONT PAY ANYTHING BUT ON SOME SPECIFIC THINGS YOU CAN PAY IF YOU WANT TO BUT YOU DONT PAY EVERY MONTH LIKE XBOX LIVE
