Can you wish on a shooting star in Animal Crossing Wild World?

On a clear night even with a few clouds, make sure you have nothing in your hands and don't be beside a tree. Keep an eye on the sky and when a shooting star flies by press A and in the morning you will get a letter with a gift!

When you see a shooting star fly across the sky, press the A button quickly. If you do it in time, you character will bow, and a message will come up. the next day you will receive a present in the mail. Note- It will not work if you are facing a tree or are holding any type of equipment.

Shooting stars come when there are meteor showers, but I don't think you can wish for anything in city folk.

i think it is only for Wild World. you are supposed to click a when you see a shooting star and the next day you get a letter from wishy the star
