What does a memory card do?
The 3DS memory card is for downloaded games and their save game data. It contains your streetpass data, and you can add music to it too. Photographs and videos you take using the 3DS can be copied to the SD card also.

The TTDS can't work on the 3DS console. But there is a new TT 3DS card, which can run DSi games perfectly on Nintendo 3DS console.

Download copies of any eShop game are locked to one 3DS; even if you insert your console's SD card in another 3DS, the data specific to download games is unreadable. The only way around this would be to initiate a System Transfer, then insert the SD card once the process has finished.

To access music, you will have to use the 3DS Sound but music cannot be deleted from the 3DS. To access pictures, use the 3DS camera to view, edit and delete pictures. Videos can also be viewed by using the 3DS camera, but there are limitations.
