I believe that dogs do, indeed, feel emotion. They are happy when you come home from being away, and sad if you scold them. I can't help but think that they feel love, too. After a recent move my daughter left her dog with us. Whenever she comes over for a visit the dog barks like his heart is breaking, and his complete joy at seeing her again is obvious.
