I don't think so I have one and I had it well over a year now and there's nothing wrong with my ds
R4 cards can be real ds cards too, but some are better then others. I can recommend the iEdge card for DS, as it's simple and stable and will run anything you need it to. I got mine from dscardworld.com
R4 and similar cards tend to be bought online (no longer on eBay or Amazon).
No. white R4 cards are older, but should have same functionality.
All r4i cards work on 3DS. But you need to understand that the R4 cards does not work on the 3DS 3D games and only for DS games. For the first generation R4, it does not work on the cards, please refer to 'R4i cards' , 'Acekard 2i' , ' M3i zero'.
What!? A DS R4??? Well i presume you meen 'how do you make the DS have an auto boot R4?' (not possible!) Just buy an R4, theres no way you can have a DS what runs roms without an R4 (or any other flash cards) You can buy them here: http://www.r4i.co.uk/ (for both DS and DSi)
No, the R4 will only play Nintendo DS Games and Homebrew.
You can get R4 cards at your local market or on the internet, however you can not get them at your local shopping center because they are illegal.
You can get them off Amazon, but the new versions are called 'EDGE' cards, so it might not say R4 in the title.
From what I hear it is compatible. I am not compielty sure if it compatible. There are many r4 cards in the market currently. The r4 ds card is only for ds and ds lite. but the r4i card can run on dsi. Well, the latest version is r4 3ds card. It can run on Nintendo 3DS,DSi and DS console. If you want to get a flash card with good compatibility, I suggest you to got a r4 3ds card.

You can phone people on a DS r4 card, if you know how to(look on youtube-type in-phone ds). But you can't text anybody+it's illegal to use r4 cards to play games, music and phone people with.
No, the R4 for the DS will not work on the DSi
