In Dynasty Warriors 6 Empires, mercenary missions do not carry over after you step down from your position as ruler. Each new ruler or scenario starts fresh, meaning any completed mercenary missions will not be retained. Players must reattempt them in subsequent playthroughs or under new leadership. This design encourages replayability and strategic planning with each new ruler.
you save them during a mercenary mission and they may decide to befriend you

They dont have Dynasty Warriors 5, But they have Dynasty Warriors 5 Empires, which is different.
It allows you to train wild animals, such as the wolves and tigers from the mercenary missions. I personally haven't encountered it anywhere else other than the territory belonging to Meng Huo, so I guess it's unique.
