Yes, as I found this wiki-question I thought I would share my knowledge of this so far.

The plugs from brick to 360 back input ARE different but I'm still trying to find if the inputs of power are different because I snipped part of the newer cord to work in my old one it seems like to little power. If I were you just buy the right cable or it might be another borken 360.
