You must be kidding if the PS3 caught on fire after a week of continuous use the Sony Corporation would have to recall every unit they ever sold and repair or replace them. Product recalls are a serious business and only a couple or a few problems can cause millions of models to be recalled. I would not doubt that a person who started rumors that they did would quickly find themselves in civil court. Look what happened with the Toyota and how quickly they caught and charged the person who faked a similar problem. People have played PS3 consoles for days, working in shifts and relieving each other when they become fatigued, without PS3 console performance problems.
