There are the usual few answers for this problem.

My own experience with this was that the jack that actually connects the cymbal its self to the drums had half fallen out and was not conducting the hits, just make sure that the plug underneath the cymbal is not out, it occasionally falls out.

The second problem may be that the cymbal itself is not conducting the hits very well and has very low sensitivity, there are a few you tube fixes for this problem but it is not recommended, you can send into Activision to get a drum tuning kit for this problem.

Finally, you may have encountered a faulty drum kit like the other Thousands of people, this is normal, you will more then likely have your warranty and can get a new kit. Do not take the kit back to where you bought it from because they do not deal with the parts and accessories of the product.
