Few discs are dirty when people talk about cleaning them they are scratched and you can see the scratches. Home remedies do not work except the ones that are to use care when handling your game discs and not scratch them to begin with. Keep them in the case when not being played.

Home remedies do not work and you can not fix a scratched disc with toothpaste or similar method like spraying them with oil. They need to be replaced or sometimes just resurfaced professionally. The good thing is most used PS2 games are cheap when purchased from amazon and other sites since there are so many available. Sometimes new disc are also greatly reduced in price
