How can you find your gear score on wow?

There is are addons that will do it for you. Or you can go to some websites that will do it. Please note that each website/addon will give you a totally different score because they use different weights to score gear. Some just go by an average of the item level of the gear, some include gems and enchants and if the gear is appropriate for your spec. Some websites will even look at your talent build and adjust your score to include the talents.

It is much better to rely on skill. Unfortunaly there is no addon that will tell you your skill.

The addon "Gearscore", which totals a number based on gear, gems and enchants should still function as it does, albeit limited. Blizzard recently applied a limit to the number of Inspect requests a character can make, which is the enging used by GearScore to determine this number. So it can take longer to update gearscore on people around you.

Second, Blizzard introduced an "Average Item Level", which is displayed on the character screen. Hit "C" to access it and click on the golden arrow at the bottom right to extend your character info, if you haven't already. The top information in the little side panel will be health, mana/focus/energy/rage, and Average Item Level.

This score is used to determine whether you are allowed to enter certain heroics using the Dungeon Finder tool, and is a fitting way of describing how good your base gear is.

If you do not want to install the addon, and want to tell people what your GearScore is, simply look up your character in the related link - it will calculate yours.
