Making one is currently impossible. The music discs "13" and "cat" are found in 8% of dungeon chests. All music discs except "11" can be obtained by getting a creeper to be killed by a skeleton's arrow.

The player can achieve this by positioning a creeper between a skeleton and themselves, then attracting the skeleton's fire. Since 1.2, mobs no longer attack a second target unless their first target is either killed or out of range, meaning the creeper does not have to be a 1-shot-kill like before. Skeletons will only fire if they are within 8 blocks of the player, so it is recommended that you hunt with speed potions, and be ready to sprint away or sprint attack the creeper if it gets too close. Creepers have 20 health points, or 10 hearts, so it is recommended that you hit them three times with an iron sword (3 hearts damage), thenattract a skeleton to one-shot-kill them. This also gives you a single chance to sprint-hit the creeper away if it gets too close. It is also recommended that you make the chase occur within either a plains or desert biome - or some other almost very flat land - so that you can look at the creeper and skeleton without having to look behind you for obstacles.

Gold tools: This is one use for gold, as the tools mine faster than diamond. They dont last very long, but enchant the best (more than twice as good at recieving enchantments than diamond tools).

Gold Armor: Another use, however the armor is not as protective as the easier obtained iron armor however is stronger than leather armor. The durability is less than iron armor but more than leather. Like the tools, it is the best at enchanting.

Gold Blocks: Mainly used as a decoration or a compact way to store gold. They dont really have any other use except crafting gold apples.

Gold Apples: This is a type of food that can be eaten to get regeration and health buffs. It is not very useful on survival mode (except maybe in the nether or end). It is mainly used in pvp. There are two tiers, one made with ingots (previously nuggets) and one made with gold blocks. In PVP, fighters use the gold block tier because of the increased buffs.

Clocks: Gold ingots are needed in the crafting of clocks. You use those to tell the time of day or night if you can't see the sun or moon. Example, if you are mining and planning to come up when its morning, or if its raining and you cant see the sun or moon.

Weighted Pressure Plates: Weighted pressure plates are used for redstone devices to detect the amount of items on it and let out a redstone signal that increased with the amount of items. There are two tiers, gold and iron. Iron tiers need many more items to get a high signal than gold ones do. In survival mode, you wont find yourself using them at much or at all unless you are heavy in redstone.

Gold Nuggets: A piece of a gold ingot. You get 9 from putting a gold ingot in the crafting table and can craft a gold ingot with 9 of them. They are used in some crafting.

Glistering Melon: A shiny gold colored melon slice crafted with gold nuggets and a melon slice. Their main use is for potions of healing, which would only be used in survival mode if you fight strong mobs a lot. The potions are used a lot in pvp.

Gold carrots: A shiny gold colored carrot that can be eaten to fill you up more than a normal carrot would. It could be used to brew a night vision potion which could be useful in survival to see at night.

Firework Stars: If you make fireworks, gold nuggets can be used in the firework stars to give the fireworks a star shape when they go off. Fireworks are usually not used in survival, as I've only seen them crafted legit like once or twice. Server admins use them sometimes to give firework shows for the players.
