Swords:

• Razor sword can be bought from the Mountain Smith for 100 Rupees after you heat up the Shop.
• Gilded Sword can be acquired when you get the Gold Dust from the Goron Races and give it to Mountain Smith.
• Great Fairy Sword can be acquired by finding all the stray fairies in Stone Tower Temple the great fairy will give you the Great Fairy Sword.

NOw there are three possible scenarios where you have lost your sword and I will address each one.

1.) You are talking about the beginning of the game where skull kid steals your sword. If this is the case you will have to befriend the bombers to get into the observatory. Then you look through the telescopr and watch a stone drop. Collect the stone and give it to the deku by the clock tower this will allow you to get into the clock twoer on the third day. Then you attack the imp with your sit bubble. He will drop an ocarina. Use that to play the song of time to reverse past actions.

2.) The big annoying bird in Hyrule field has stolen your sword. If this is the case kill the bird if you cannot then play the song of time.

3.) You have given it to the forgemaster to upgrade it. You must wait 24 game hours before recollecting your sword.

You have to sneak up and get it without getting caught. To do that, you have to hide under barrels and move, but never in the light, and find your way up the platforms to turn off the lights. Eventually, after roaming and getting thrown in jail a few times(there's an escape hole on the bookshelf), you will figure out a way to the top of the tower outside the room your sister is in. You have to run to the sword and defeat the bokoblin guarding the door.

If you lost Link's shield to a Like Like, make sure you defeat it before leaving the room it inhabits; failure to do so or taking too much time killing it will result in the item being consumed and irretrievably lost. (In which case, you'd have to purchase a new shield either from the Trading Post in West Clock Town, or from the shop at Zora Hall.)

A Like Like cannot consume the Mirror Shield, nor can it steal Link's arsenal if he is not in Hylian form.

After having it get eaten by a Like Like, you will need to buy a new shield. Further on in the game, you can earn a Mirror Shield that cannot be eaten or damaged.
