How do computer games work on ps2s?

Answer that is a great question, it would be pretty cool if you could, but you cant. However there is a company that sold systems that could run programs. The system is called Evo: Phase One. I know its good because it is water cooled, but i cant find out a single thing about it, like where to buy it, or what happened to it. I have no idea, i wana know soo bad there is nothing on the net about it. How mysterious??? All it shows you is the lunch date which was in 2006. Please let me know if you find something out. its soooo weird, yet interesting.

You would have to remake the game's code and controls, by opening the files for it and rewriting them, which might destory the game, which I don't recomend doing.

It is impossible to use PlayStation Network on a PlayStation 2, as only the PlayStation 3 can access it, and has the capabilities to do so. PlayStation Network is used to access the online store, as well as play games online. Although you can play games online with the PlayStation 2, the game servers are hosted by the separate developers.

They don't. Developers port their games to different platforms and consoles. You cannot stick a PC version of a game into a PS2 and expect it to work.
