How do find the last monkey in the forest temple?

After you enter the temple you can free the first monkey. And she will show you where to go from there. That and the rooms on all the far sides should have a monkey with them. But the first couple monkeys will show you where to start. But you should be able to figure it out from there.

if you go back to the main starting/center room/2nd room you enter in the temple(?I think?) with the boomerang there is a chest hanging from the ceiling, it had the compass. now when you look at the map it has red dots on it, those are key items, aka the locations of all remaining monkeys, so you should be able to find the last one
