1. get to the little island on the map ( use the canno closest to the island on the mountain). 2. after you done that jump under the ? box (if the box is see through you need to do the ? mark level*). 3. quickly run in to the cannon on the little island. 4. launch yourself from the cannon and try to fly through the rings of coins hitting the the middle coin in the ring. 5. Keep doing that till you have done all five rings. you will know when you have done then all because a star will apear on the map. * go in the peach castel and step on the circle and zoom in with the X button as far as you can then press up up button then your on the ? mark level.

wow, ok this is going way back in my memory, but in order to unlock the flying hat box you need to to stare up at the sky mural in the very entryway of the castle. it will warp you into a level where you fly around. This is as soon as you enter the castle, use the look around controls and look straight up. if i recall you have to be standing in something, or on something. it should be aparent now that you'll be looking for it. i think it's sunlight. you need ten stars in order for the winged hat level to open up.
