How do you beat the sumo wrestling on red dragon island?

There are a few things you have to do before the Wrestling will begin. First, you must visit both the fortress in East Edo (where Jack and Annie are held) and the lake house at the far left of the city (where an old poet lives). Once you have been to the poet's house, you have to return to Edo and complete the processes there.

1) Help the guards identify the fish thief from among the paper dragon crew

2) use the rotten fish to catch the Kappa fish under the bridge

3) repair the bridge with the mortar from the lake

4) when the Yokozuna crosses the bridge, pick up the bonsai scissors the girl drops

5) trim a bonsai at the garden hut so that the Yokozuna's assistant can buy it

At this point, you take the policeman's betting ticket and go to the Sumo arena.

Actually he doesn't wrestle, you do but I can give you a tip about doing the wrestling. Try to jump when he smashes his feet on the ground and try to jump when he runs at you and he will eventually run too fast and fall off the platform.

The Yokozuna character is a hybrid of Crusher and Speeding Spike from Super Power Island.

When the Yokozuma growls and stomps, jump into the air. Do the same when he charges at you : jump over him to avoid being thundered out of the arena. After you avoid him for awhile, he will get red-faced and quickly run at you. Jump over him and he will plummet from the ring, leaving you the winner.

The other wrestler is scared to fight the Yokozuna, so you fight instead.

- when he growls, jump up so that his stomping doesn't knock you down

- when he rushes at you, jump over him

- continue avoiding his stomps and rushes until he gets mad (red-faced)

and rushes at you full speed; when you jump him, he plummets off the mat

* Before you can go to the arena, you have to go to the Fortress and get the message from Jack and Annie, then go far left to the Lake House to talk to the old poet. Pick up the rotted fish from the Fortress steps and the bag of mortar at the lake, and go back to East Edo.

There are 4 tasks you have to complete when you return:

- Help the police identify the fish thief

- Catch the Kappa for the fisherman

- Repair the bridge with the mortar

- Pick up the Bonsai Clippers and trim a Bonsai at the Bonsai Hut

After you find the thief in the dragon, one of the warriors will give you a betting slip for the Yokozuna. Then, you must go up to where the sumo match is being held (a Japanese girl in a blue kimono will be standing by the door) and give your betting slip to the man in the green kimono. Finally, you sign Autographs for the Yokozuna's agent and take the place of the other sumo wrestler pretending to be sick and defeat the Yokozuna!
