How do you catch a bore on the sims 2 castaways?

you have to craft an obsidian tipped speared first. Then when you have the weapon in your inventory and you happen to be in the same area with a running boar, simply get in front of his path. He will stop and a picture balloon will pop up in your sims head. Then a big fight between your sim and boar will take place in a cloud of dust. When you are successful, you end up with the meat, the tusk & skin (which you can use for fashion and grooming).

I found out how to do this on the 3rd island. I saw one on the 2nd island an took out my spear, and started chasing it.

You don't get it with a spear though, you have to chase it. (I found this out by accident, i wasnt even chasing it) The boar went to my person and jumped on him, then there was brown clouds (they were fighting) I was a little scared at first, then my person was standing there, and a ham was on the ground! Well i found out if you chase it, and try to run through it, it'll fight with you. (you may have to do this for quite a while) I've done this twice so far, so I don't know if there's any risk in this. :/
