Many times, gamers will go to set their Xbox Kinects up only to find that their living room isn't very spacious. Maybe a coffee table or recliner blocks the Kinect from having a full view of the large space in front of it. Maybe you're not sure about where to place the Xbox Kinect in relation to the TV and the rest of the room. With this article, you'll find out how to arrange your living room and cut down on disruptions so that you can get the best Kinect experience possible.Making Room for Your Xbox KinectFirst and foremost, if you're working with a pretty small living room, you should probably just get acclimated with the fact that pushing big furniture out of the way every time you want to use it will be necessary. It's no joke that playing the Kinect requires a large amount of space for the playing experience to feel comfortable and enjoyable. Additionally, you'll want to move your objects out of the way to prevent accidentally bumping into them or injuring yourself.Placing the SensorBelieve it or not, placing the Xbox Kinect sensor requires a little more effort than just placing it anywhere that faces the general open area of the room. For example, placing the Xbox Kinect on the floor will not be viable simply because the sensor cannot get a good reading from the floor. Additionally, placing it in front of the TV or inside of the entertainment center is also not a good way to allow the Kinect to get a good reading of the room. The best place to put your Xbox Kinect so that its sensor can work the best is either on top of the TV or some other high and central location. Just remember; the higher you place the Kinect the better.Don't make the mistake of trying to obliviously figure out where the Xbox Kinect will work the best. Just remember to clear out a pretty large area and place the Xbox sensor at a high but central point to get the best results possible out of your device.
Microsoft Kinect ReviewThe Kinect is a relatively new component for the Xbox 360 that allows players to control the Xbox as well as Kinect-friendly by entirely using your body. With the Kinect, the controller is you, and the need for plastic controllers with buttons and analog sticks becomes obsolete. How the Kinect WorksAt first glance, the Kinect looks like a long, slender piece of plastic sitting on top of your TV and facing the living room. The Kinect is actually a camera with a built-in microphone that utilizes both of these components to detect players in front of it. By using both of these components, it can identify different players with its facial recognition technology and it can even respond to voice. It can even allow players to navigate their entire Xbox using their hands rather than just Kinect games. The Downsides of the KinectAlthough the Kinect is highly functional and has a lot of potential, its downfalls are the fact that it can take a long time to get it set up and calibrated correctly. Additionally, there is an obvious lag between what you do in real life compared to what you see on the screen. This is most likely because Microsoft ditched the on-board processor to keep prices down. The Upsides of the KinectThe Kinect is better for players that want more family-oriented games that encourage group play instead of single player. Besides, the Kinect isn't meant to be an advanced piece of technology. It's for families to have fun and come together to play games.
