Summary:
Many DS games have different levels of completion. There are games that have a level of completion that is almost impossible to describe, yet play. Then again, those games may be made for the little Einsteins of the century. I myself, am not a Einstein. This game made me feel, what one would say cool. I went back in time, it was an awesome learning experience. Now, being 12, I was not thinking about a learning experience when I was playing the game. I was simply thinking about how the heck I should complete the mini game, yet thinking about a learning experience. I was focused and determined to complete the game. Now, the game will go a long time if you have a younger one, ages such as 6,7,8. They might find this game morally tough. I don't even think 6 year old can even sit for a period such as an hour, yet even read the words on top as fast as they are going!!! I am not criticizing this game, it is fun. It makes you feel like your part of the family in the 70s, who depends on the one shop. This game may take time. Now, I am 12 and the game took me about 4-5 days to finish. I was very determined though, and all of those days I had been home sick, which gave me time to waste. So, I just kept on playing and playing. There are tough parts in this game. I am going to give you what some may call "cheaters" or "secrets" to the game below so that if you know a person, or the person is you, that is struggling with the game, you have some hints on where to go.
Hints,Cheats,Secrets:
-On the Christmas tree mini game. which is very tough (I had a hard time getting past it), there is a tricking secret. Now, if you don't want these answers, I recommend having someone like a mom or dad read them, so you dont spoil the game and they can give you hints on where to go. If you are desperate, then read on:
Now, the game tells you that everyone used red, white, or yellow paper. So, the rest of the colors, green and blue to be exact, will NOT be used. Only the red, white, and yellow presents will be used that are under the Christmas tree. Now, that clue was very important in the game. I had a hard time understanding the clues, even more because I don't like reading directions. Then, read the rest of the clues, and you should be able to figure where the presents go. If you have tried and can't figure it out, and it keeps saying, getting close,I have the answers below:
Julie: Gets the red present without the polka dots. Julie also gets the presents that has the green bow on it, which has yellow strips on the paper, I believe.
Tracy: Gets the polka dotted red present from dad. She also gets the fatter white present from Julie
Dad: Gets the skinny yellow stripped present from Julie. He also gets the flatter white present from Julie.
This is the only mini game that comes across to me as impossible to pass. I won this level on accident. I then went back to see how I won it and then understood. I was laughing as to how hard I thought I took it, and remembered going online like yourself looking for answers for this mini game in particular. I am not going to give anymore cheats. But if you have any more Julie DS game questions, post them and maybe I could answer them for you. I hope this cheater was most helpful in anyway.
Ratings:
There is a possible 4 stars for each category.
Sound, music, etc: 3.5
Comments: The music was different and brought me into the 70s. I liked the occasional hi honey and heya ace in the game said by Julie's friends and family.
Visuals: 3.5
Visuals were ok and I liked the 3D effect on everything
Controls for Julie: 1
Julie kept running into everything and sometimes even nothing. You couldn't walk into a room, and you'd get stuck in a corner or something. This was something about the game that was morally awefull. YUCK!!
Overall score out of 10:
8.6
Good game!!!!
Ages recommended:
8,9,10,11,12 maybe 7 year old is they are a little more mature and understanding if things in the game are tough.
Gender:
I heard that a boy hated the game. Well, what do you expect man? You are a boy and it's American girl!!! I even heard he wanted the doll. I have the Julie doll and she's great. But, American GIRL,, hence the word GIRL, is really for girls. Great game for girls!!!!!
Summary:
This game is full of exciting events, cool close ups, and great friend and family experiences. This game is a great exmaple of Julie being a well made and thought out person, a kind and generous person as well. This game has many perks, beside the game completion level. Great game. I recommend you should try this game, only if you are a girl, hahaha!!!!!!
