On the Minecraft download page, you can download a Vanilla (standard) Minecraft server for Windows, Mac, and (I think) Linux.

You need to have java 6 or later installed on your mac for a minecraft server jar to open correctly. If this doesn't work you can use a terminal command to run the jar.
To run a Minecraft Server you will need to download the server software (See links below) and then enter the command... java -cp minecraft-server.jar com.mojang.minecraft.server.MinecraftServer ...into the Terminal. The Read Me file that comes with the Server download explains how to configure the server to your particular needs.
You should be able to go onto any bodys server thats hosted on a Mac or Windows, with any Mac or Windows machine. Minecraft is cross platform compatible. (Mac and Windows). You just need their "outside" IP address.
Go into google and type in minecraft version changer and download it. It's for windows and for mac. Its completely legal and gives you ANY version of minecraft server.
Depends on who your Email server is. Contact your server which is whoever provides your internet service and or you email. On a Mac just open Mac Mail and create and account. Put in your email address and password. Your Mac will take care of the rest and create and account for you. If you already have tried to create and account delete it and start over. Click the + sing bottom left to create an account.
