How do you download mods onto a Sim city 4 deluxe edition PC game?

First you need to download the mod that you want, from websites such as Simtropolis. Make sure you're downloading mods under SimCity 4.

Windows version only:

Download file > open file > extract all files > My Desktop > Simcity 4 > Plug-ins > extract again.

Note: Mods you download will sometimes come with a "read me" file, just choose one file and extract it if that file is present with the download. Mods will sometimes be messed up or bug filled so avoid the ones which have 3 or 4 stars.

Well, first of all, you need either Deluxe or Rush Hour, then go to a website for mods( ex. Simtropolis.com ) then upload that mod to your Sim city 4 plugin's( Located in the SC4 Documents) and go to the plugins and extract the file ( right click the file and the extract option will pop out ) and play SC4 and HOORAY its their. Note: some mods require dependencies for it to work or else the building will become a cardboard box. ( This will not put viruses on your computer, but some certain mods will cause your game to log out to windows, so delete that certain mod so that it won't happen) :D

First go to the site scroll your cursor over the tab that says 'ST/Exchange' click on SimCity 4, and start browsing any type of buildings or mods that you would like to have for your game.

Next step: Download the file then extract it (copy the file)

This is for Windows version only.

Download > open file > Extract file > My desktop > SimCity 4> Plugins > Extract again.

You can add the file to another location but I'd recommend plug-ins, so it doesn't screw with your game.

Though most of the uploaded mods look good, be cautious of bug filled mods... avoid any mods rated 3 or 4 stars, my recommendation is to download 5 star rated mods only!.
