You will PROBABLY need a copy of a cheat device for the PS1, like a GameShark. I do not think pSX offers emulated cheat devices like emulators for cartridge based consoles. Just insert the gameshark into your CD drive and open it up and run it just like you would a gameshark for a real PS 1. Choose your game and choose your codes, choose to start the game then insert the actual game disc (or choose the game image)
To use GameShark PSX v1.13, first insert the GameShark disc into your PlayStation console and power it on. When prompted, you can enter cheat codes specific to the game you want to play. After entering the desired codes, select "Start Game" to launch your game with the cheats activated. Remember to save your game progress regularly, as cheats can sometimes cause unexpected issues.
equalizer, action replay and gameshark codes all work
[PEC] PSX Emulation cheater is a very good tool for PSX Emulators. It is compatible with any emulator that uses a 'Plugins' file, such as ePSXe. www.Emucheater.com is the maker of [PEC] however the site was down last time I checked. Google either program to find them, as they are completely free. On the Contrary, [CEP] Is a very good cheating program for any Emulator that doesn't rely on a 'Plugins' file, such as 'pSX'. Both programs use Gameshark, or PAR codes to modify the needed files to cheat. You can use google to find either program, and they are both completely free.
