How do you equip things on Kingdom Hearts?

you mean your items to be used? press "[ ]"

to scroll from the list of item you currently has hold "R" then press "[ ]" for left and press "O" for right

you mean your equipments?

go to your home, go near the box then press "[ ]"

change equipment then you can either select " change equipment" or edit "equipment set"

you can only change weapon by going to your chest box in your house

Go to items and click the blank spots for either armor or ring

To equip items (such as a slingshot), press the minus sign "-" on the Wii remote and use the nunchuk to select an item and press "A" to equip it.

in FFXIII-2 the only thing you can "equip" on monsters are little decorations to make them "cuter".
