To slap, hold L2 or R2 and move the right or left analog stick back and forth across diagonally, quickly. To slap left, hold L2 and move the left analog stick; to slap right, hold R2 and move the right analog stick. If you're talking about enemies though, the most common way is to hit them in the 'brain' (not always on head).

now theres a pack called the metal gear solid pack you can download that and you get a paint ball gun (paint-a-nator) you can kill enemies that have been configured to die with a certaint amout of hits.
