The Purple Artifact is just south of the Rock Lab, but you can only find it when you are using the Geiger Counter. You will see a purple light and a crack in the ground. Use the rover hook to pull away the rocks on top.
The yellow artifact (gem tower) is just above the Research Lab in the upper right of the lunar map. However, there is no value in going to it. The Red artifact is below the BioDome, and the Green artifact is just below the main lunar base.

After you chase her to the Rock lab, you can't find her again. When you use the Geiger Counter to find the Purple Artifact, she catches up to you.

The uncovered artifacts (gem-like towers) are Green, near the main base, Yellow, near the research lab, and Red, near the Biodome. The fourth artifact, the Purple one, is buried underground near the Rock Lab -- there is a small X on the surface. You cannot uncover it until you find Salerno and use her keycard to access the Rock Lab. The geiger counter is in the storage room there and will help you locate the artifact (a little below the lab).
