How do you fix an Xbox 360's red ring of fire?

Once when playing my 360, i got the red ring of death. All i did was immediatly turn the 360 off, and wait about 10-20 seconds and then turned it back on. Then my 360 was back to normal.

That is one way of doing it.

If the red ring persists then move the xbox where it can get more air.

The red ring is a sign of a component error. This means that one of the pieces of your xbox has gotten to hot to work.

when i got the red ring of death i turned my x-box off immediatly un plugged all the plugs and the tele cables. I took my hardrive off, grabbed a towel rapped it round my x-box put it in the freezer for 20 minutes. When i took it out i kept the towel on plugged everything back in turned it on and everything was back working as usual.

to prevent the red red ring of death you can: 1.put your xbox on it's side, as when it is stood vertically it blocks a main vent at the bottom. 2.don't keep your xbox in a confined space as it will overheat. also dont play on it for hours and open a window to keep the room circulated. 3.clean your xbox and games as the dust could clog up the fans and can also damage the tray because the dust causes friction. 4.never turn of the xbox by the button on the front. always turn of the xbox via the dashboard by holding the button on the controller and then choosing the option on the xbox dashboard. pressing the button the the xbox makes the hard drive put too much effort into turning of and can overheat. this should prevent the red ring of death or could get rid of it altogether. hoped this helped. happy gaming!

ever see red rings on you'r xbox thenyou have th ring of death,i once had the ring of death,and i was so frignthend,well you see what happens is,when you are playing you'r xbox overheats,and that causes for for a chip inside

to go bad,so heres what you need to do,unplug every plug you have on you'r xbox and let it rest for about ten minutes,then plug the plugs back and try it,if it dosen't work try it again

you can wrap it in a towel or blanket and it will start to work again but it is bad for the consel so if it still under warrenty send it in if it not u can get it repaired for $100 or just get a ps3

Well You Can place it out in open space to circulate air to it. Or you Could get and Intercooler or Cooling Station to attach to the Xbox 360. Hope this helps =Þ
